Silver Dollar City hosts roller-coaster convention

Posted online
About 350 so-called "adrenaline junkies" this month will converge on Silver Dollar City, which has been selected to host the American Coaster Enthusiasts' annual convention.

The convention, dubbed Coaster Con, will be June 21-23, according to a Silver Dollar City news release. The event is in its 32nd year.

As part of the convention, American Coaster Enthusiasts members will enjoy "exclusive ride time" - periods in the early morning and late evening when the Branson park will be closed to the general public. The park's roller coasters include PowderKeg, WildFire, Thunderation and Fire in the Hole.

American Coaster Enthusiasts was founded in 1978 and boasts more than 7,000 members from 12 countries. The nonprofit, all-volunteer organization works to preserve, promote, appreciate and enjoy roller coasters, according to the release.[[In-content Ad]]
