State Sen. Norma Champion, Rep. Bob Dixon and Wil Fischer co-workers surprised Gower with the award at the company’s offices, 3539 W. FR 142. Gower is the 23rd recipient of the award, which recognizes individuals who have been positive, progressive and made a difference in their community, according to a news release.
Resolutions from both the Missouri Senate and House of Representatives and a proclamation from the governor accompanied the award.
Gower was nominated by Ralph Slavens, real estate broker and founder of the Missourian Award.
Wil Fischer is a Springfield-based distributor for Anheuser-Busch with 75 employees.
