SIG Sauer, Remington to bring 134 jobs to Ark.

Posted online
Two firearm manufacturers are making multimillion-dollar investments in Arkansas in the form of expanding existing facilities and creating a combined 134 jobs.

Gov. Asa Hutchinson announced last week at the Shooting, Hunting and Outdoor Trade Show in Las Vegas that Newington, N.H.-based SIG Sauer and Madison, N.C.-based Remington Outdoor Co. would add on to their in-state manufacturing plants.

Remington employs roughly 1,200 at its Lonoke, Ark. facility, and the $12 million addition would create 84 new positions. SIG’s 50 jobs would be created at a Jacksonville plant expected to receive “several million” dollars worth of company investment, according to Arkansas Business.

The gun makers are set to receive a combined $3.3 million in incentives from the state’s Quick Action Closing Fund.
