Showboat Branson Belle's Showstoppers! to stop Dec. 31

Posted online
Showboat Branson Belle, which is owned by Silver Dollar City Attractions and the Herschend Family Entertainment Corp., announced Aug. 10 that Showstoppers! will hold its final show Dec. 31, after a run of more than a decade.

The show, which features comedian and ventriloquist Todd Oliver, wraps around a two-hour cruise and features dining and other entertainment.

Oliver is moving on to his own show at the Jim Stafford Theater in 2011, the release said.

"We have enjoyed a 13-year relationship with Todd as a highly talented performer and a good friend of the Silver Dollar City family," SBB General Manager Jim Moeskau said in the release. "This move for Todd is another great example of how Branson introduces and then nurtures talented performers who become favorites with our 8 million visitors."

SBB is working on a new dinner show to start in 2011; details are expected to be released in late fall 2010, the release said.[[In-content Ad]]
