The average price for gasoline in Missouri rose 8 cents during the past week to land at $3.23 per gallon.
Today's average represents a 15-cent increase from a month ago but a 40-cent decrease from the same time in 2013, according to GasBuddy.com data. The U.S. average rose 6 cents to $3.41 per gallon during the past week.
The Show-Me State ranked 10th this morning on GasBuddy's list of the lowest gas averages nationwide, landing behind No. 1-ranked South Carolina, with an average of $3.13 per gallon. Hawaii bottomed out the list, averaging $4.05 per gallon.
Missourians could purchase gas at $2.99 per gallon this morning at nine filling stations in Monett, Ozark and Scott City. A station in Sinclair had the most expensive price for gas, at $3.46 per gallon, according to MissouriGasPrices.com.
In Springfield, the lowest price was available for $3.06 per gallon at both Sam's Club locations, 745 W. El Camino Alto Drive and 3660 E. Sunshine St., and ranged up to $3.24 per gallon.
West Texas Intermediate crude oil was trading at $102.20 per barrel as of 11:32 a.m., compared to $100.30 per barrel a week ago. Light sweet crude oil futures for April were trading at $103.16 per barrel on the
New York Mercantile Exchange.
