A shouting match between Democrats and Republicans came about while they were interviewing a witness in the impeachment investigation, sources from both parties told CNN.
Lt. Col. Alexander Vindman, the National Security Council official in charge of Ukraine policy, was being interviewed in a closed-door deposition on Tuesday.
Democrats accused Republicans of trying to out the anonymous whistleblower who sparked the impeachment inquiry into President Donald Trump over alleged meddling with Ukraine.
