Your wording of the question reflects your bias. Perhaps: Should Missouri lawmakers vote for congressional redistricting as long as it reflects the overall census demographic for the state, even if that results in changing the Republican to Democrat ratio in the 2026 midterm elections?

They need to stop playing these games. Both sides need to be taken to a good old woodshed, come back with a whole new attitude!

In what world would we want to change any legislation that gives less voting power to the people? This is an inappropriate poll question. It illegitimizes the risk of these major power grabs happening at the expense of the American people.

Missouri, like most states, has a well-defined procedure in place to re-district every 10 years based upon the U.S. census results. There is no need to disrupt this long-established process just 48 months after it occurred. Texas, on the other hand, is disrupting the process and admits that it's a ploy to curry favor with Trump, who is worried about losing ground. That doesn't mean Missouri should follow Texas. Also, the idea that Missouri would work to remove its two Democrat Congressmen -- who are Black -- has strong racial overtones.

If they were doing what constituents wanted they would not need to redistrict. They won the seats originally to have a majority the fair legal way and are only scared now that Trump is screwing things up and need the extra seats. I think things are so bad the extra seats won't matter because Trump is sucking the life out of the Republican party and the people of the United States are paying heavily for it. It makes me sad. Just like Nazi Germany only modern day with Trump and the Christian White Nationalism.
