Shoppers buy less on weekend before Christmas

As Christmas approaches, shoppers appear to be visiting brick-and-mortar stores less.

Analytics firm RetailNext estimated on Sunday the number of visits to stores fell 7 percent on Friday and Saturday.

Less visits have forced retailers to put in place deeper discounts, according to Fox News.

No. 3 U.S. retailer Target Corp. suffered reduced traffic after reports of a massive data breach.
