Sheryl Sandberg donates $1M to Planned Parenthood

Sheryl Sandberg, chief operating officer of Facebook, has donated $1 million to Planned Parenthood.

The tech executive’s donation comes day after she publicly criticized President Donald Trump’s reinstatement of a global gag rule banning U.S.-funded groups around the world from discussing abortion.

"The last time the global gag rule was in effect, research showed more women who lost access to contraception had unwanted pregnancies and abortion rates doubled," Sandberg recently wrote on her Facebook page. "The best way to prevent abortion is through more family planning services, not fewer."
