Royal Dutch Shell plans to cut 7,000-9,000 jobs in response to a slump in oil demand brought on by the coronavirus pandemic.
The cuts would be conducted by 2022. The layoffs include some 1,500 voluntary exits, company officials said.
Second quarter net income was down 82% to $638 million for Shell.
