Royal Dutch Shell on Thursday launched a $25 billion share buyback program.
The repurchase plan was promised following Shell's $54 billion acquisition of BG Group in 2016.
"Today we are taking another important step towards the delivery of our world-class investment case, with the launch of a $25 billion share buyback program," CEO Ben van Beurden said in a statement.
