Shareholders sue UnitedHealthcare in wake of CEO's killing

Posted online

A group of shareholders has filed suit against UnitedHealthcare over the company's reaction to the killing of its CEO.

The lawsuit alleges public backlash in the wake of Thompson's death prevented the company from pursuing "the aggressive, anticonsumer tactics that it would need to achieve" its earnings goals. The suit alleges "the company was deliberately reckless in doubling down on its previously issued guidance."
