The Springfield-Branson National Airport reported increased passenger counts in every month this year, according to Springfield Convention & Visitors Bureau data.
In an enewsletter sent yesterday, the CVB reported 81,928 enplanements and deplanements at SGF during June, a 12.2 percent increase compared to 73,047 in the same month of 2013.
Through June, passenger counts totaled 409,197, up 11.8 percent from 366,014 for the first six months of 2013.
Hotel demand The latest Springfield hotel statistics from the CVB show a favorable local lodging industry compared to last year.
In May - the most recent data published by the CVB - the Queen City hotel occupancy rate was 66.1 percent. That's up from 59.5 percent in May 2013. Year-to-date occupancy through May was 57.9 percent, compared to 52 percent in the same period a year earlier.
Room sales totaled $8.5 million in May, up from 8 million in the same month of 2013, while year-to-date sales rose to $35.6 million through May from $33.4 million a year earlier, according to the CVB.
In May, room demand in Springfield was 113,925, up from 111,001 in the corresponding month of the prior year. Through May, room demand tallied 488,549 compared to 472,833 in 2013 through May.
