SF tops KC - in World Series ticket prices

Posted online
Fans of the Kansas City Royals have had to endure a nearly 30-year drought of postseason appearances before the team made it to the playoffs and World Series this year, and it appears they are willing to pay handsomely to see their team on the field in October. Ticket prices to opening games at Kauffman Stadium average about $880, according to CNNMoney.

Apparently, fans in San Francisco are willing to pay even more to see the Giants in the Series: $1,056 is the going price for a ticket to Friday's or Saturday's games, the report states. Expect prices to go even higher if either team looks likely to win the Series at home.

Maybe one reason Giants' fans are willing to shell out more for a chance to see their team win at home is because even though the Giants won the Series twice in the past four years, they haven't taken the title at home since 1958.
