ServiceWorld merges with St. Charles firm

Posted online
ServiceWorld Computer Center has merged with a St. Charles-based information technology firm that it has partnered with for the past year.

ServiceWorld owner and founder Doug Pitt said his company is dropping its name to TSI Technology Solutions LLC as part of the deal that makes him a minority owner and partner in the company. Pitt said he would continue to manage TSI’s Springfield operations.

TSI Technology Solutions is a division of TSI Global Cos., a 26-year-old company that specializes in infrastructure and fiber-optic cabling, audio-video systems, Voice over Internet Protocol phones and digital signage. In October 2012, Pitt and TSI Global President Robert Bray formally established TSI Integrated Service LLC to serve the Springfield market. With the merger, TSI Integrated will be retired and TSI Technology becomes a 145-employee firm offering IT services, networking, audio-video systems, voice-data applications, cabling, security and technology engineering.

“The relationship worked really well, and what we found out was that with the combined companies, about any technology a company could need we had under one roof,” Pitt said. “We saw strength in our synergy.”

Pitt estimated the merger would help TSI Technology Solutions reach 2014 revenue of $30 million, a jump from a projected $25 million this year. The deal closed around Aug. 1, Pitt said. He currently has budgeted $50,000 for renovations and signage changes to the ServiceWorld office at 1409 W. Sunshine St., he said.

Both Bray and Pitt declined to disclose terms of the deal, but said they both would have ownership in TSI Technology Solutions and serve on the board of directors. ServiceWorld Director of Business Development Dave Sharon will now handle some of Pitt’s responsibilities in managing the Springfield office as a result of the merger.
