ServiceWorld Computer Center, 1409 W. Sunshine, is celebrating its 10th year in business.
Honored in 1999 as the W. Curtis Strube Small Business of the Year, the company also supports civic and charitable programs. It is also the founder of the Technology Today program, which refurbishes donated computer equipment and provides it to Springfield area schools at no charge.
Of the company's 10 years in business, president Doug Pitt said, "I get a lot of credit as the front guy, but I have to give it to the people here. They've done a great job." ServiceWorld employs a staff of 24.
Pitt said the company's greatest area of growth has been in "wide-area networking. That's been going on for about the last year."
ServiceWorld specializes in both local and wide-area networks and also provides service and sales support for a full range of computers, printers and PC-related products.
