Senators raise questions over Missouri COO pay structure

Several Republican members of the Missouri Senate are asking Gov. Eric Greitens to centralize his chief operating officer's salary, according to the Springfield News-Leader.

The state's first COO, Drew Erdmann started Feb. 20 and has a salary of $125,000.

At issue is how that salary is structured. Currently, it's spread across several state departments. Senators are asking for his pay to be reflected solely in the governor's budget.

Mike Roche, Greitens' chief of staff, said the COO's pay is structured that way because Erdmann must work with many different departments.
