Senate passes record $858B in defense spending

The U.S. Senate on Thursday passed legislation to allocate a record $858 billion in annual defense spending.

That's $45 billion more than proposed by President Joe Biden.

The National Defense Authorization Act was passed in the Senate with an 83-11 vote.
