Senate passes deal to reopen federal government

The U.S. Senate on Monday passed legislation that would end the federal government shutdown.

The 60-40 vote came after some Democrats joined with Republicans to back a spending package.

The House may vote as early as Wednesday to end the nation's longest government shutdown.
