The U.S. Senate on Tuesday passed the bipartisan Innovation and Competition Act, a $250 billion technology and manufacturing bill.
The bill would provide funding for scientific research, create subsidies for chipmakers and robot makers, and overhaul the National Science Foundation, CNBC reports.
The legislation also is designed to keep the United States competitive with China as a global tech giant.
