The Senate yesterday confirmed Jerome Powell as the 16th chairman of the Federal Reserve.
He succeeds outgoing Fed Chairwoman Janet Yellen, who's last day is Feb. 3.
A member of the Fed's board since 2012, Powell was nominated by President Donald Trump for the top job.
