The U.S. Senate yesterday blocked President Donald Trump's nominee for the Federal Reserve Board.
NPR reports the nominee, Judy Shelton, has espoused unconventional economic views such as questioning the mission of the central bank and supporting the gold standard.
Shelton most recently worked as U.S. director of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development.
