Sen. McCain diagnosed with aggressive brain cancer

Posted online
U.S. Sen. John McCain, R-Arizona, has been diagnosed with an aggressive form of brain cancer.

McCain, 80, underwent surgery last Friday at the Mayo Clinic to remove a blood clot above his left eye. The surgery led to the discovery that a brain tumor known as a glioblastoma was associated with the clot, according to his office.

The senator, who was re-elected in November to his sixth Senate term, could receive a combination of chemotherapy and radiation.
