Jerry Seinfeld won a copyright lawsuit that alleged he stole the idea for "Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee."
Christian Charles claims he first suggested the show to Seinfeld in 2002, a decade before it came to fruition. Seinfeld rejected his copyright claim in 2012, when the show first aired.
Charles directed the pilot of the show in 2011, but his relationship with Seinfeld is said to have broken down after he sought more credit for it.
"Because Charles was on notice that his ownership claim had been repudiated since at least 2012, his infringement claim is time-barred," Manhattan District Judge Alison Nathan said.
