San Francisco-based See's Candies Inc. is slated to open a shop later this month inside Battlefield Mall.
The company, which operates more than 200 shops in 34 states and in Hong Kong, Japan and Macau, has scheduled a soft opening Jan. 25, following by a Feb. 1 grand opening, according to David Friedman, See's Candies real estate director.
The 1,100-square-foot store - across from Forever 21 and Bare Minerals - would be the company's first full-service shop in Missouri. See's Candies operates a kiosk in St. Louis, and it has set up holiday kiosks in Battlefield Mall.
Friedman, who declined to disclose lease terms with mall owner Simon Properties, said the shop would offer a full selection of See's Candies, which include boxed chocolates, peanut brittle, truffles and lollypops.
The shop will employ 12 part-time sales associates and two members of management, including store Manager Edward Christoffersen.
Founded in 1921, See's Candies was acquired by Warren Buffett's Berkshire Hathaway Inc. in 1972, according to the company's
website.[[In-content Ad]]
