Secretaries of state from across the nation will gather in St. Louis June 26-30 for their annual convention.
The five-day event will focus on new technology, improving public access to information, records management, the elections process and ways to motivate young people to get involved in the democratic process, according to a release from Secretary of State Rebecca Cook's office.
Cook said she is pleased to be the host of the annual meeting because it provides an opportunity to showcase Missouri.
"We have a variety of meaningful sessions lined up for conference participants, which will help them do their jobs better when they return home. We have many great attractions in the St. Louis area to show our guests and will also showcase some of the great talent St. Louis has to offer," Cook said in the release.
The National Association of Secretaries of State is the oldest professional, nonpartisan organization of major public officials in the United States.
It was founded 95 years ago in St. Louis during the 1904 World's Fair.
