Kimberly Cheatle, director of the U.S. Secret Service, has resigned.
Her resignation comes after the recent assassination attempt of former President Donald Trump. Lawmakers are reportedly looking into the Secret Service's handling of Trump’s protection.
Cheatle said in her resignation letter that the agency “fell short” of its mission “to protect our nation’s leaders.”
