A five-week-old social app dubbed Secret allows people to connect anonymously through their address books, and much of the early chatter it has generated reveals a secret look at Silicon Valley itself.
Secret’s messages appear only as from “friend” or “friend of friend,” and popular posts appear occasionally identified by the city or state where they were posted.
So far, the platform is generating a lot of gossip revolving around people and projects in the tech industry. Secret recently announced it had raised $8.6 million from several well-known investors, including Alexis Ohanian, a founder of Reddit, according to the New York Times.
