Posted online
A second major earthquake struck Nepal on Tuesday just weeks after a magnitude 7.8 earthquake killed more than 8,000 people and injured a further 17,000 in the Himalayan country, according to The News Journal.

The quake, which was measured as a magnitude 7.3, was followed by at least five, smaller aftershocks. The center of the quake was an isolated conservation area approximately 11 miles from Kodari, a border crossing from Nepal to Tibet, and 47 miles from the Nepalese capital of Kathmandu.

Nepal's Home Ministry reports at least 36 people were killed and 1,117 injured in the latest quake.
