U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission Chairwoman Mary Jo White plans to step down in January.
White announced her plans yesterday to leave the nation's Wall Street overseer after nearly four years in charge.
White, 68, said she had no plans to retire, but was not sure what she would do next.
According to USA Today, her exit sets the stage for a potential conservative leadership shift under the incoming Trump administration.
