The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission has alleged that Wells Fargo overcharged some 11,000 investment advisory accounts to the tune of $27 million.
Wells Fargo has reached a $35 million civil penalty settlement over the matter.
SEC officials said the company also would pay account holders about $40 million.
