SeaWorld to upgrade killer whale habitats

Facing pressure, amusement park company SeaWorld said it will double the size of its killer whales' habitats at its three parks.

The first of the new killer whale exhibits is slated to open in San Diego in 2018, followed by Orlando and San Antonio, according to CNNMoney.

The move comes amid a backlash following the release of "Blackfish," a documentary that examined SeaWorld's treatment of the animals in a heavily critical light and questioned whether they should be held in captivity at all.
