Of 100 Sears and Kmart stores identified as unprofitable and headed toward closure, the retail parent company has identified 72 sites that will close first.
Two Missouri stores are on the list released Thursday by Sears Holdings: one each in Chesterfield and St. Louis. All told, 48 are Sears stores and 15 are Kmart stores are slated to close by early September.
This is in addition to 103 stores Sears Holdings already shuttered this year.
Sears Holdings reported first-quarter sales dropped by 30 percent.
