Sears Hometown files for bankruptcy

Sears Hometown Stores, a home goods-focused unit of Sears, has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy.

The company has less than $50 million in assets and $50 million to $100 million in liabilities, according to court documents.

The chain has more than 120 stores in 26 states and Puerto Rico.
