Schumer: Deal reached to avoid government shutdown

Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer announced an agreement late Wednesday to avoid a government shutdown.

A stop gap bill would keep the government running through Dec. 3.

Senate Republicans on Monday voted to block a bill passed by the House to fund the government because it also suspended the debt ceiling until December 2022.
