School bus company ordered to pay $1.3M in STL hit-and-run lawsuit

School bus company First Student Inc. was ordered to pay $1.3 million by a St. Louis jury in a hit-and-run lawsuit.

Jurors found the company should pay damages to a boy who was let off at the wrong corner in 2019. The boy was struck and injured by a hit-and-run driver as he crossed the street.

Jurors found First Student was negligent by not providing its new driver with a route sheet instructing where the boy should have been dropped off, the St. Louis Business Journal reports.
