Schnucks issues layoff notice for 234 Bridgeton employees

Schnuck Markets Inc. is moving forward with its plan to lay off 234 union-represented warehouse workers in Bridgeton.

The company recently posted a layoff notice with the Missouri Department of Economic Development.

Schnucks originally announced in April that 190 union warehouse workers would be replaced with contract employees.

The contract workers will operate a 915,000-square-foot distribution center opening in Kinloch.
