Missouri Attorney General Eric Schmitt joined 17 other attorneys general in asking Congress to initiate an investigation into the Chinese government’s role in the COVID-19 pandemic.
Schmitt's office last month filed suit against China, alleging "their inaction and suppression of information during critical days early in 2020 led to the spread of COVID-19 across the globe," the attorney general said.
Schmitt and the other attorneys general sent a letter to leadership of the House and Senate Foreign Relations Committees, Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi and Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, as well as other House and Senate leaders.
