Scalper's delight: Kansas City's baseball Cinderella pushes up ticket prices

With Kansas City's Major League Baseball team making the playoffs this year, ticket prices are on the rise.
 
Now, if you're one of the overnight diehard fans of the Missouri ball team that hasn't played in October since 1985, getting a last-minute seat in Kauffman Stadium for the Royals-Orioles series will set you back $673. For that, you and 16 soccer-loving friends could catch a Sporting KC match or you could take 11 football fans to a Chiefs home game, according to Bloomberg Businessweek. Or, you could binge on 70 sandwiches from KC barbecue joint Arthur Bryant's.
 
Bawlmer fans, who haven't had to wait three decades for their team to make the playoffs, are only about $509 worth of excited for the post season.
