The annual Faces & Places in Construction Contest is a showcase of on-the-job, candid photography by employees of Salute Council member organizations. Cash prizes totaling $400 are awarded to the winners in the categories of Faces, Places and Best of Show during the Salute to Construction banquet Nov. 8.
Doug Fronick, a member of the student chapter of the Springfield Home Builders Association at Southwest Missouri State University, took first place in the Faces category. His shot is of Adam Orr, president of the student chapter of Habitat for Humanity, working among the rafters of a Habitat home.
Gary Cotter of Springfield Ready Mix, a Springfield Contractors
Association member, took second place honors in the Faces category for his picture of Gary Trogdon, of Trogdon Concrete Construction, pouring concrete at the Western Electric Co-op Project.
Bell Building Systems was the general contractor.
Blake Christian of DeWitt & Associates Inc., a member of The Builders' Association, took third place in the faces category for this black-and-white shot of Odell Blackstock at work on the Nixa High School project.
