What Readers Think

No

I am all for making the Ozarks a better place and making sure that we have the best of the best and all receive an education. But OTC is charging more per credit hour than similar schools in the state. We already have state-funded and private colleges that cost an arm and a leg to go to, which our taxes already help subsidize. OTC getting more tax money in this application will not make an impact on student tuition as much as it will toward faculty and administration pay raises. If they were to make sure that this tax levy would go directly to benefit the students and not the pockets of the administration, maybe I would be for it. But from what the vice president that spoke at a dinner I attended in October told us, I don’t see that it is a benefit for the people of the Ozarks. Show us where the benefits of the actual funding will improve our community – not just administration.

—Nathan Webster, Electronic Video Systems

I am not in support of any additional tax increases until I see fiscal responsibility within our government entities, and I know that my tax dollars are spent with the same care and concern that I show when spending my after-tax dollars.
