I voted yes, (though it) depends on how broadly you define the term “recession.” In its broadest definition, we could say that we are already in a recession because we have experienced a significant decline in economic activity for more than a few months. To answer the question more directly, I think that we are going to see some turbulent times in the upcoming months due, in part, to the upcoming elections and the instability of the banking and financial services sector.

I think things are starting to swing up. With rebates from the government, small though they may be, I think it gives people a positive outlook. Perspective means a lot.

I think the recession is all hype from it being election year. I think it is to make President Bush look bad and for whoever comes in after him, the economy will take a miraculous turn. Election year always brings this kind of (speculation).
