What Readers Think

Yes

As much as we all dislike taxes, additional state revenue must come from somewhere. Letting those who use it most pay the most seems to be an equitable answer.

Randy Zickefoose, Sunsational Four Seasons Sunrooms

Toll roads are often more well-maintained, and I believe private ownership often provides more efficient management than government.

Ed Gibson, MWM Dexter

Let the people who use the roads help pay for the roads, instead of raising taxes.

Nancy C. Belt

No

I seriously doubt that tolls will improve the roads in Missouri. I recently took a trip to Tulsa, Okla., and the (Will Rogers Turnpike) was terrible. I think that it will cost us more to set up toll roads with very little return on investment.

Susan L. Foster, St. John’s Clinic

Current Question

With Springfield’s current budget troubles, should the city spend $50,000 to hire a search firm to find the next city manager?
