Springfield Business Journal sister company Hightide Communications last night debuted its sbjLive video platform.
Around 175 people came out to the launch party of sbjLive.net at 315 South Ave. downtown.
The video site shares business stories in six categories: inspire, experience, how to, startup, trending and life. The site launched with around 25 videos, including interviews with Herschend Family Entertainment Corp. co-founder Peter Herschend, JMark Business Solutions Inc. President and CEO Thomas Douglas (see below), Springfield Area Chamber of Commerce President Matt Morrow and Springfield Police Department Chief Paul Williams.
Jeremy Bartley, producer of sbjLive and market innovator for Hightide, said the website is designed as a web-based entrepreneur television network. The primary goal is to address the statistic that 90 percent of businesses fail within 10 years.
“No one even tries to challenge it,” he said. “The ‘why’ is to lower that percentage in Springfield.
“I want to tell the story of the Main Street business owner. It can really make a difference, and we can all be a part of that.”
SbjLive plans to release six videos per week, as well as complementary live broadcasts via Facebook. This morning, Bartley and Hightide CEO Mar’Ellen Felin conducted Facebook Live interviews with SBJ Most Influential Women honorees during their photo shoot.
Since last night’s launch, 1,500 people have visited the website.
A relocation to Nixa from Republic and a rebranding occurred for Aspen Elevated Health; Kuick Noodles LLC opened; and Phelps County Bank launched a new southwest Springfield branch.
