SBJ to honor 12 fastest-growing local companies

Posted online

The scores have been tabulated for Springfield Business Journal’s 2016 Dynamic Dozen, honoring the 12 fastest-growing Ozarks companies. SBJ also will honor five local professionals with individual awards and present the second annual Judge’s Choice award, recognizing their community achievements.

The Dynamic Dozen companies, in alphabetical order, are: Burgess Aircraft Management LLC, Citizens Memorial Healthcare, GigSalad, Haven Healthcare LLC, HealthcareFirst Inc., JMark Business Solutions Inc., MaMa Jean’s Natural Foods Market LLC, OakStar Bank, Penmac Staffing Services Inc., Phoenix Home Care Inc., Pinnacle Sign Group Inc. and S & H Farm Supply Inc.

The Dynamic Dozen companies are determined through a numbers-based formula that awards points for both annual revenue and percentage growth for 2013, 2014 and 2015. Eligible companies must report gross revenue of at least $500,000 in each year, and they must operate headquarters in SBJ’s coverage area within 50 miles of Springfield.

A third party, Abacus CPAs LLC owner Bill Dunton, verified the numbers in the Dynamic Dozen applications.

Determined by an independent panel of judges, the individual honors will be awarded in five categories:
    • Top Local Executive: Bonnie Keller, president and CEO of Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Ozarks Inc. and The Tooth Truck Inc.;
    • Top Local Financial Officer: Michelle Heidt, vice president and chief financial officer of Ozarks Coca-Cola/Dr Pepper Bottling Co.;
    • Top Local Sales/Marketing Professional: Gwen Beebe, vice president of business development and regional operations for Phoenix Home Health Care Inc.;
    • Top Local Human Resources Professional: Jill Wiggins, Career Center director for Missouri State University; and
    • Employee of the Year: Allison Ledford, superintendent clerical assistant and business office receptionist for Nixa Public Schools.

The Judge’s Choice Award honors a company whose dynamic qualities extend beyond revenue to impact the community. Honored for innovative growth, civic awareness and philanthropic efforts communitywide, the judges selected All About Trees LLC for the honor.

Rankings for the Dynamic Dozen companies will be announced and the individuals will be honored at a May 19 reception and awards ceremony at The Old Glass Place, 521 E. St. Louis St. For more information and past honorees, visit SBJ.net/D12.

Profiles of the honored companies and individuals will appear in a special publication debuting at the event and distributed in SBJ’s May 23 edition.
