SBJ prepares to launch 2002 Book of Lists, Golf Guide

Posted online

The activity is building to a fever pitch here at the Business Journal. The year is barely begun, but our sales staff already is exceeding its goal for the month and we have two special products under way, the Book of Lists and the SBJ Golf Guide.

Most of our readers already know the value of SBJ's Book of Lists as a fantastic resource for business. It lists everything from appraisal companies to wireless communications dealers and pretty much everything in between.

From the city's largest employers to its most active small-business lenders, the Book of Lists is a goldmine of information right at readers' fingertips, complete with names, phone and fax numbers, and in many cases, e-mail and Web site ad-dresses.

Our editorial staff will be involved in a major effort to edit and index the various lists that appeared in these pages during 2001 for inclusion in the book. We also will update some of the lists that ran ear-ly last year and research some that ap-pear exclusively in the Book of Lists.

If you receive one of our questionnaires, please respond as quickly as possible so we can pull it all together for our March publication date.

Meanwhile, we are also hard at work on the SBJ Golf Guide. Readers will enjoy features on teaching pros, up-and-coming golfers, golf communities, and a schedule of tournaments throughout the area, as well as golf tips and information on what's new in 2002, all in a beautiful, glossy, four-color publication.

Kris Hegle, who worked on last year's Golf Guide and is a major golf enthusiast herself, is overseeing the content of this year's guide as contributing editor. Kris brings a golfer's perspective and enthusiasm to the guide, and I think SBJ readers will enjoy the results of her efforts.

Additionally, please take note of the Heard on the Street item that appears on Page 2 of this issue regarding our 40 Un-der 40 publication. Nomination forms now are available, and we want to hear from you.

For more information about any of our special products, please contact Debra Fickbohm, SBJ's special products coordinator. She can be reached at 417-831-3238 or by e-mail at dfickbohm@sbj.net.

Two weeks into 2002 and exciting things are happening already; hang on Springfield, this year's going to be a hot one.
