Even in retirement, Tom Finnie is racking up achievements.

The recently retired Springfield city manager will be honored with Springfield Business Journal’s Lifetime Achievement in Business Award July 27 as part of SBJ’s annual Economic Impact Awards.

Finnie will join the ranks of past honorees John Q. Hammons, Ralph Manley, Jack Stack, Larry Wallis, Edwin C. Rice Jr. and Charlie O’Reilly.

Since coming to Springfield in 1990, Finnie had a hand in many of the city’s milestones, including the beginning of its downtown revitalization, its Vision 20/20 long-range plan, Jordan Valley Park, Hammons Field, Jordan Valley Innovation Center and the Partnership Industrial Center.

The ceremony, where honorees in five EIA categories also will be announced, will be at the White River Room at Bass Pro Shops. A 6 p.m. reception in the second-floor Sportsman’s Gallery will start the evening’s festivities, with the ceremony and dinner to follow at 7 p.m.

Tickets are available for $45 each or $320 for a table of eight. Tickets may be ordered online or by calling Circulation Director Diana Weber at (417) 831-3238.[[In-content Ad]]
