Thursday was a hot night - literally - at the Gillioz Theatre as Springfield Business Journal honored its 12th class of 40 Under 40.
The class, chosen by a panel of independent judges based on accomplishments in business and the community, was introduced by masters of ceremonies Liz Delany and Kevin Howard of Alice 95.5.
The 375 in attendance were treated to a vaudeville-themed performance including the Extreme Fiery Vaudeville Show, performed by Springfield Fire Worx, and an aerial silk performance by Tamara Finocchiaro.

This year's judges were Wayne Dipper of KPM Technology LLC, Don Harkey of Galt Consulting LLC, Alina Lehnert of Evangel University, Stephanie Lutes of Breast Cancer Foundation of the Ozarks and Jason Steingraber of Bowerman Elementary School. All were members of the 2009 class.
