Initial letters were sent out Jan. 12 to local firms with a deadline of Jan. 22, but because of the ice storm and the resulting power outage, several firms did not receive the letters.
Also, because of technical difficulties, some projects that were sent in were lost.
Though SBJ sent a second letter, with an extended deadline, and many phone calls have been made, staff members are finding that there are companies who were not aware of the opportunity to participate or of the extended deadline, which has now been pushed to Feb. 9.
Architecture and engineering firms that have not submitted projects are encouraged to do so. Those who have questions or would like to make sure their project was received and not lost after the storm should call Features Editor Maria Hoover at (417) 831-3238 or e-mail mhoover@sbj.net.
