Legal and regulatory business information is now available online at www.businesslaw.gov, a new Web site developed by the U.S. Small Business Administration. According to an SBA news release, the new site is one of 23 projects at the core of the Bush admin-istration's e-government strategy.
SBA Administrator Hector V. Barreto said the site was developed with small-business owners and customers in mind.
"Understanding federal, state and local laws and regulations that affect day-to-day operations is critical to small-business success," Barreto said. He added that the new site provides interagency and intergovernmental information ar-ranged by subject. The site consolidates and indexes links to credible sources of information about 39 areas of general interest, such as licenses and permits, e-commerce and exporting. The site also offers information that is specific to each state, and it offers the option to search for information about the most frequently asked business questions.
